Neurosurgeon
Neurosurgeons are medical doctors who have training in surgery related to diseases of the nervous system ie the brain, spine and nerves. They also assist with non-surgery cases.
People with physical disabilities have come in contact with neurosurgeons across their life if they needed surgery related to epilepsy, hydrocephaly or spasticity management. In adulthood, people are likely to see neurosurgeons if they experience major changes in their spine like spinal stenosis (thinning of spinal column), spinal impingement or unstable spine.
