Neurologists are medical doctors who have training in the diseases of the nervous system ie the brain, spine and nerves.

Many people with physical disabilities have come in contact with neurologists across their life if they have epilepsy or hydrocephaly or were referred for management of spasticity. You may also see a neurologist later in life if you are experiencing changes in your abilities that cannot be explained by other means. A referral may be made to find out whether there is a different neurological reason for changes.
